Professional project management provides leadership and oversight throughout the entire project lifecycle, from the development of the initial brief at RIBA Stage 1 through to completion and handover at Stage 6. Close collaboration with the client ensures clear project objectives, deliverables, budgets and programmes are established, with strategic advice and proactive management provided to ensure these objectives are achieved. This includes advising on the appointment and structure of the project team and wider consultant appointments, coordinating and managing the design team, overseeing project risks and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies, and providing advice on the most appropriate procurement route and contractor appointment.

During the construction phase, effective project leadership and coordination is provided across the client, consultant and contractor teams to ensure the works progress in accordance with the agreed programme, budget, quality standards and project requirements. Costs, programme and risk are actively managed and monitored, while changes are assessed and managed to understand and control their potential impact on the project. Through robust reporting, performance monitoring and stakeholder management, compliance with key project KPIs is maintained, with a clear focus on successful project delivery from inception through to completion, handover and close-out.
